Participant faints amid extreme heat during Palawan drum and lyre competition

Around 80 individuals at a drum and lyre competition in Palawan's Taytay town felt dizzy, and a musician-competitor fainted amid Tuesday's extreme heat, JB Juanich reported on Super Radyo dzBBB.

Medical personnel from the municipal health office and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Taytay immediately came to the aid of the distressed participants.

One of the responders said a competitor fainted while performing a routine in the heat.

At least eight individuals were brought to the health center, while one patient was taken to hospital.

This was the first drum and lyre competition held in Taytay in celebration of the Pasinggatan Festival.

Participants came from the localities of Narra, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, and San Vicente in Palawan.
