NBI nabs seven people selling fake land title
The National Bureau of Investigation-Dagupan District Office arrested seven individuals for allegedly selling a counterfeit land title in Pangasinan.
According to a statement released by NBI on Friday, suspects Corazon Langit Idio Villedo, aka “Lourdes Tan”, Rogelio de Guzman Martinez, Cornelio Velasquez Mejia, Danilo Andaya, Bernard Tandoc, Sonny Fernandez, and Arturo Castro tried to sell a title for 378 square meters of land in Calasiao, Pangasinan, under the name of Lourdes V. Tan.
The complainant agreed to purchase the land for P3 million, but she later found out that the real Lourdes V. Tan is residing in the United States, and that she was presented with a fake title.
The suspects were arrested in an entrapment operation on September 15 and will face charges for violation of Article 315 (estafa) in relation to Article 172 (falsification by private individuals and use of falsified documents) under the Revised Penal Code. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
