The family of the woman found dead and left by the roadside in Binangonan town, Rizal province is determined to file a case against the woman’s former live-in partner.

The woman’s family in Murcia town, Province of Negros Occidental, also appealed for help in the transport of the body from Rizal to her home in Barangay Minoyan.

Juanito Cahilig Jr., the father of 31-year-old victim, Janiclear, said that justice should prevail in the death of “a loving, helpful daughter.”

Janiclear is Juanito’s eldest child.

The woman was found dead and dumped by the roadside on February 13, 2024.

She left Murcia to work in Antipolo, Rizal where she started a family there with her former common-law husband identified as Roceller Lanon, called fondly as “RJ.”

Her siblings said that Janiclear was last seen with RJ.

The couple had been reportedly in a fallout because of the suspect’s alleged persistent fits of jealousy.

RJ reportedly tried to win back Janiclear prior to Valentine’s Day.

Juanito pointed out how irrational RJ had become to have killed a good woman just because of a fit of jealousy.

Dahil lang sa selos, pinatay niya ang anak ko,” Juanito expressed as he tried to be composed.

In an interview with GMA Integrated News, the suspect, who was arrested in Rizal, admitted to killing the woman. He cited that he got jealous with Janiclear’s co-worker.

The couple has two children.

Major Mark Joeil Reclamado, chief of the Murcia Police Station, said that they are still waiting for coordination from Binangonan Police on the case investigation.

—GMA Regional TV
