PUERTO PRINCESA — US Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday said that she would again run for office as the running mate of US President Joe Biden if he would seek reelection in 2024.

“As the president said, he intends to run and if he does, I will be running with him,” Harris told reporters after her speech on board BRP Teresa Magbanua.

“I have no doubt of the strength of the work we have done in the last two years,” she added.

rejecting China’s nine-dash-line claims in the South China Sea and assured the Philippines of aid in cases aggressions ensue in defiance of such ruling.

Harris cited the relief provided amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the Infrastructure law, bringing down the cost of healthcare, and the $370 billion climate crisis fund assistance.

“In fact, [climate crisis fund assistance] is one of the reasons why I am here in the Philippines because the climate crisis is something that needs global leadership,” Harris said.

Harris also called on Americans to speak out against violence committed against the members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer plus (LGBTQ+) community in the wake of the deadly shooting in Colorado.

“My heart goes out to those families and for the whole community, and I think we all have to speak out against this kind of violence and what it does [to communities] and what it means because it does not reflect who we are and what we believe of ourselves as Americans,” Harris said. —NB, GMA Integrated News
