Barangay LS, a consistent favorite among listeners from all ages and social demographics, brings an all-hit music format spiced up with fun features, interesting stories and live interaction via phone calls, text messages and on-line connectivity.
The station’s daily programs are hosted by Papa Jepoy, Papa Bodjie, and Mama Cy for Potpot & Friends; Papa Dudut, Ate Liza and Chikotita for Balita sa Barangay and Radyo Nobela; Papa Tolits, Papa Baldo and Mama Belle for Kuwentong Barangay and Three Play; Papa Kiko and Papa Obet for Talk to Papa; and Papa Dan for Wanted Sweetheart.
According to Barangay LS Program Director Glenn Allona, the Yahoo! OMG! Awards nomination demonstrates that radio is still an effective medium to connect with an audience. “Radio has not become obsolete. It instead keeps up with the changing dynamics of media preferences through intermarriage with new media,” he said.
“We at Barangay LS continue to strive to be relevant and remain the top-of-mind radio station in Mega Manila.”
The Yahoo! OMG! Awards is the first of its kind purple carpet event that recognizes the most-searched celebrities online. The selection of nominees was based on how they often trend in Yahoo! Philippines Search Engine. The winners, on the other hand, are the highest vote-getters from the online poll by Yahoo! OMG! Philippines that will run until June 28.
