You will never know where life will take you. This is true for John Kehvin Real or Papa Ding who is the latest addition to the Barangay LS roster of talented DJs.

The former regional radio host in the province of Quezon didn’t expect becoming a DJ will be his career since he graduated with a degree in agricultural technology.

In his one-on-one interview with GMANetwork.com last week, Papa Ding talked about how he discovered his love for radio.

He added, “Pero nung panahon na expose ako sa radio, which is ibang radio pa ‘yun hindi pa ‘yun sa GMA, kasi mayroon akong unang inaplayan, which is dun ako na-expose. Nakita ko ‘yung papaano ‘yung radio thing… I just realized na parang 'Ay eto pala ‘yung passion ko parang dito ako mago-grow.'”

Papa Ding also revealed that his previous job as a fast food crew helped him overcome his shyness, since he was sometimes assigned as a host of their events like birthday parties.

Papa Ding worked as a radio host in Lucena city for three years. He then decided to try out his luck in Metro Manila last June and apply as a disk jock in Barangay LS 97.1.

After coming in Quezon City, he didn’t wait long and finally got the call back.

It was a sort of an early celebration for Papa Ding since he was on vacation in Palawan when he got the news.

Nasa somewhere in Palawan ako eh. So nung nalaman ako, sabi ko parang advance ‘yung celebration ko kasi wala pa man din nag-celebrate na.”

Papa Ding will host Talk Back, the former show of Papa Marky.

According to him, Kabarangay listeners should expect a more exciting and entertaining Talk Back.
