EXCLUSIVE: Anthony Rosaldo opens up about music writing, production and mentorship

Anthony Rosaldo has his heart and arms open to the different opportunities his career may bring.
Anthony is no stranger to joining contests and taking chances as he has always set his eyes to making it big in the music industry.
When he joined The Clash season 1, he qualified to be among the top 6. And while he fell one elimination away from The Final Clash, his raw talent and determination still brought him a fruitful career as a Kapuso and a GMA Music artist. In fact, Anthony was even hailed as the Most Promising Male Recording Artist of the Year at the 51st Box Office Entertainment Awards.
This year, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19, the Kapuso singer was able to release his third single titled “Pwedeng Tayo” which he recorded right at the safety of his home. With this sense of adaptiveness and unyielding commitment to his craft, it’s no wonder that he can accomplish more in his music career.
In an interview with GMANetwork.com during a special video conference with the Kapuso Brigade, Anthony revealed his interest in music writing and production. He has already even planned to write his own songs for his debut album.
He said, recalling, “Before I went to bed, may mga lines na pumapasok sa head ko. Parang gusto kong gawing song. Parang inspired ako before going to bed, and actually I was telling GMA Music na gusto ko ‘yung magiging next single ko, sinulat ko na. Ako na mismo ‘yung magsusulat. So hopefully for year 2021, ‘yung unang ilalabas ko na song, ako na mismo ‘yung magsusulat. About music production naman, I don’t know much about it yet but I know how to do my own covers pa lang so siguro in the near future baka matutunan ko rin siya.”
While he eyes these roles, Anthony’s ultimate goal is to eventually be a mentor to aspiring singers like who he once was.
He admitted, “Ako, ‘yun naman ‘yung talagang pinaka masasabi kong main goal ko kung bakit gusto kong makilala eh gusto kong maging inspiration ng mga kagaya ko na naging isang dreamer noong nag-uumpisa pa lang, na gustong maging kagaya ng idols niya. So I want to be that person talaga na kagaya ng mga idols ko na nagbigay ng hope na gayahin sila, na maging isang magandang ehemplo sa mga bagong singers.
“So in mentoring naman, very, very much open ako in mentoring and gusto ko ma-share kung ano ‘yung mga nagawa ko, mga ginamit kong mga bagay para mapaganda ‘yung mga naging performance ko sa career ko.”
