Derrick Monasterio releases new song "Virgo" and opens about an ex-girlfriend.
Kapuso actor and singer Derrick Monasterio just dropped his latest single, "Virgo" a romantic dance track that deals with a lost love with an upbeat tune.
During a recent virtual media conference, when Derrick was asked who he would dedicate his song "Virgo," the actor answered his ex.
He said, "Siguro sa ex ko, I'll probably be dedicating this to my ex kasi. While I was recording this I was thinking of past experiences that happened between us.
"Feeling ko sa ex ko 'to sinasabi, parang, 'Ba't ka kailangan maging paasa? Hindi ka naman perfect na tao, bakit ka kailangan mag-give up,'" Derrick elaborated.
Currently, Derrick admitted he is in the "talking phase" or in the process of getting to know a potential romantic partner whom he chose not to name. He explained why he thinks the talking phase is vital in starting a relationship: "Important 'yung getting to know each other phase kasi diyan natin makikita kung compatible ba tayo sa lahat ng aspects.
"Diyan natin malalaman kung eto na ba 'yung mapapangasawa ko or babaeng willing akong makasama habangbuhay. Kailangan talaga 'yan, it's actually a necessity in dating para talagang makilala mo 'yung partner.
He added, "Pero may mga tao rin na sobrang bilis din maging sila pero nagtagal at nagkaroon na ng pamilya.
"Those are rare scenarios, pero for me you really have to get to know the person, know her flaws, her likes, her interests, and 'yung dislikes niyo with each other."
Currently, "Virgo" has landed on the New Music Friday playlist on Spotify Philippines.
