A portion of the national highway in Colilisi, Tagabakid, Mati City remained impassable as of Friday, February 23, 2024, due to ground movements a day after a landslide on February 22.

Cracks on the road were seen following the landslide. The highway connects Mati City to Tarragona, Davao Oriental.

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) said ground movements are still being recorded in the landslide area, as of this posting.

In an emergency meeting on Thursday, February 22, 2024, the provincial government identified an alternative route from Tagabakid barangay hall to Bugakan Elementary School.

The Provincial Engineering Office also plans to rehabilitate and improve the alternative route while the city government is set to install solar lights along the road.

Rehabilitation of alternative route may finish in three days.

Motorists from Davao City and other areas planning to travel to the east coast towns of the province are advised to take the Compostela road in Davao de Oro going to Cateel town.

Meanwhile, all roads from Davao City and other provinces going to Mati City are all passable.
