A hotel in Barangay Dao, Tagbilaran City, Bohol offers good vibes and inspiration because seventy percent of its employees are members of a community of hearing-impaired persons.

Joel Tadle, for example, has 14 years of experience as a staff member of the housekeeping department. He is described by his superiors to be industrious, determined, and enthusiastic.

Other hearing-impaired workers are assigned at the kitchen.

The project of providing the differently abled with employment opportunities started in 2002 through a non-government organization that supported their education.

Once the trainees graduate, they get job opportunities, according to Idea Philippines Communications Officer Athena Ampit-Magdayo.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak news team visited the hotel and found out that staff members that day were preoccupied with preparations for an event at the function room.

It was learned that students of Bohol Deaf Academy who are on their on-the-job training or job exposure helped the employees as well.

When it comes to attending guests, communication has never been a concern because guests can write down their orders and requests, according to April Bayron, hotel manager.

The hotel has supervisors and front desk personnel to assist the differently abled.

Bayron said that guests are assured of premium service from workers who are as hardworking and dedicated as most of us.
