At least 35 police personnel in Northern Mindanao who are suffering from chronic illnesses received cash assistance and food packages through the Love and Blessing (LAB) Virus Program of the PNP Officers’ Ladies Club Foundation.
Most of the beneficiaries are suffering from cancer, heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes, among others.
According to Mary Rose Marbil, national adviser of the foundation and wife of PNP Chief Police General Rommel Marbil, the program aims to provide relief to police personnel who are facing hardships.
“In the past my husband would always say ang PNP laging tumutulong everytime na may nangyayari sila lagi ang tumutulong pero parang walang tumutulong sa kanila diba? So, we said we’ll focus on the PNP personnel kasi walang pumapansin eh feeling nila superman ang mga pulis diba? So, but u know they need help also,” Mary Rose said.
The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) commended the program.
“Let us take a moment to reflect on the core values that guide us. Integrity, dedication and selflessness these values which each one of us upholds empower us to make a positive impact on the lives of those around us,” PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, said.
After Northern Mindanao, the foundation is set to deliver assistance to other regions in Mindanao.
