Inmates at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP)-Sablayan Municipal Jail in Occidental Mindoro are creating handmade crochet flowers.
The handmade flowers are on display outside the facility from February 14 to 16, 2025.
According to BJMP Mimaropa information officer Jail Officer 3 Joefrie Anglo, the initiative provides persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) with a source of income while allowing them to take part in the Valentine’s celebration.
The crochet flowers are available for purchase through BJMP Sablayan’s Facebook page, with prices ranging from P80 to P150 per stem and P200 to P1,000 per bouquet, depending on size and design.
