Authorities in Pangasinan launched a mass vaccination drive for pets in Barangay Anolid, Mangaldan, Pangasinan after a man tested positive for rabies after he was bitten by his own dog.

Officials also disinfected the area with chlorine to prevent the spread of the virus.

Barangay Anolid authorities has been implementing the "Aso Mo, Itali Mo" (Tie Your Dog) ordinance strictly to ensure that stray dogs do not roam freely.

“Asikasuhin nating mabuti ang alaga nating hayop, especially yung aso. Hindi biro yung makagat ng aso kagaya ngayon, nangyari na yung kinakatakutan natin na magkaroon ng positive rabies,” Barangay Chairperson Marissa Honsayco said.

Honsayco also urged residents to cooperate with barangay policies for everyone's safety.

Many locals agree with the ordinance, saying it helps maintain cleanliness and safety in the community.

“Yung nakatali yung aso, syempre para hindi magkalat ng dumi sa kalsada,” Maximo Tolentino, a resident, said.

Authorities said the victim has received the necessary rabies vaccine and is now in stable condition.
