A grass fire broke out near a warehouse in Barangay Labangan, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro afternoon on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Firefighters from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), along with volunteers from Kalinga and Fil-Chi Fire Brigades, responded to the scene, according to the Public Information Office (PIO) of Occidental Mindoro.
Photos and videos taken by Ms. Bi Balilo II showed that the fire was close to the Methodist Church in the area.
According to initial reports, the fire started in a nearby sitio and spread fast due to hot weather and strong winds.
As of 6:57 p.m., firefighters continue to put out the flames to prevent the fire from reaching residential areas.
