The Iloilo City Government celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, with a simultaneous planting of about 500 saplings of native trees.
The saplings were planted along Iloilo Sunset Boulevard and Diversion Road, Mandurriao District morning on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
Members of volunteer organizations, and employees of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Iloilo City and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Office 6 planted saplings of Narra, Banaba, Balitbitan, Bani, and Molave.
Campaigns on proper disposal of garbage and the planting of tree saplings are strengthened to further encourage protection of the environment, the Iloilo City LGU emphasized.
