Teachers, students, and parents teamed up on Monday, June 9, 2025, for the start of Brigada Eskwela at Mangaldan National High School, cleaning and preparing classrooms ahead of the academic year 2025–2026.
The group also cleaned the school garden to prevent mosquitoes and other insects from breeding near learning spaces.
“Mahalaga ang Brigada para pagpasok ng mga bata, ready na ang mga classroom,” Lourdes Neri, a teacher at the school, said.
In the coming days, the school will begin repairs on classrooms that need maintenance.
School officials are also preparing for a possible shortage in classroom space due to an expected rise in student enrollment.
“May mga learning facilities tayo na pwedeng i-convert kasi mahalaga sa atin na may classroom ang mga bata,” Eduardo Castillo, the school principal, said.
Last school year, the school had more than 8,000 students. If this number increases, the school is ready to convert other facilities into classrooms to ensure no learner is left behind.
The school has also started repairing and repainting student chairs. Even if enrollment rises, the school said there are enough extra chairs available.
