Fire broke out in three areas in Bacolod City.

All incidents happened on November 5, 2025.

At least nine houses were gutted in a fire that struck an area in Barangay Banago, Bacolod City.

The fire incident occurred at about 8 p.m.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacolod City responded immediately but because most of the houses were made of light materials, the fire spread quickly. At least six houses were partially damaged.

According to residents, the fire started in the house of alias “Bryan.

"Sana nang nakita na ang sunog, nagtimbre siya sa mga constituent niya dito. Tumakas siya, tumakas siya,” Danila Nabalitan, a fire victim, said.

The suspect set allegedly his house on fire.

"Bumili siya ng kandila, pitong piraso at sinindihan niya lahat,” Ediboy, another fire victim, said.

GMA Regional TV One Western Visayas tried to look for the suspect in the said area, but he was not around.

BFP Bacolod City is yet investigating on the information about possible arson.

Hours after, fire razed five houses in Barangay Tangub and damaged partially another two houses.

At the downtown area, fire hit a portion of an establishment after a generator set exploded allegedly. The said fire incident left behind P15,000 in damages.

Investigation is ongoing for the two other fire incidents, as of this writing.

The BFP has reminded the public how to avoid fire incidents especially when power supply is not available.

“Dapat meron tayong candle holder at huwag pabayaan ang mga kandila na nakasindi kung hindi natin ginagamit,” according to FO2 Paul Servano, information officer of BFP Bacolod City.
