Over 20,000 people joined the opening parade of the Panagbenga Festival on February 3, 2024, according to the Baguio City Police Office.

"Ngayon, nakita natin spread out ang mga turista, marami talaga," Andrew Pinero, spokesperson for the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. (BFFFI), said.

Six schools participated in the Drum and Lyre and Street Dancing Field Demonstration at the Melvin Jones Football Ground.

"Level up ang performances ng mga contingent, kumpara noong nakaraang mga taon talagang mas maganda ang mga performances ngayon," Mayor Benjamin Magalong of Baguio City, said.

"Sobrang ganda, talagang pinaghandaan," Jolen Faith Contes, a tourist, said.

Over 1,300 police officers were deployed during the celebration.

The celebration was peaceful overall, according to the police.

"Walang threat... magsaya lang tayo," PBGEN David K. Peredo Jr, the Regional Director of the Police Regional Office of Cordillera, said.

The Ambassador of Poland to the Philippines, Jaroslaw Szczepankiewics, was also present at the event. He was invited by the Baguio Tourism Council.

After the grand opening day, the BFFFI is gearing up for the Grand Street Parade scheduled on February 24, 2024 and the Grand Float Parade on February 25, 2024.
