Those single or without a date for Valentine's Day may just find their match in Camalig, Albay.
The local government has introduced "Blind Date with the Books" to reignite the interest in reading, especially among young people. The venue - the municipal library.
Upon entering the building, searchers will be given a book as their “mystery date.” They will also receive other items such as pens, chocolates, and sweet messages.
"Para mas ma-encourage natin yung mga kabataan, lalong lalo na ang magbasa ng libro kasi madami ngayon puro nalang social media, diba, so iba parin yung libro na binabasa," Vice Mayor Ardahil Baldo of Camalig, said.
"Para po, yung mga estudyante, hindi lang basta makikipag-date kung kanino. Pwede silang makipag-date sa mga libro," Lorie Ann Nocillado, the librarian, said.
The concept was well-received by young individuals who, despite the prevalence of modern technology, continue to appreciate the charm of visiting the library.
"Mas prefer po namin na personal po mabasa yung mga information," a student shared.
The activity is set to run until the end of February.
Borrowing books from the library is allowed, and readers can take them home for up to one week.
Nocillado encourages the public to continue visiting the library even beyond the Month of Hearts.
