Youth volunteers in Tanjay City, Negros Oriental will play characters in a live portrayal of the  14 Stations of the Cross.

The reenactment of the passion and death of Jesus Christ is set on Good Friday, March 29, 2024 starting at the Saint James the Greater Parish and on to other parts of Tanjay City.

The youth volunteers said that this is the first time they would stage a live portrayal of the stations.

Parish Pastoral Council officials such as Emelda Honculada, president; members, and Jema Galanza, coordinator and lector, will lead the singing, reading, and praying at each station.

The traditional observance of the "Via Crucis" is carried out city-wide as what has been done in the previous years. However, a live portrayal would be a first for their community.

Jay Anne Empat, Parish Youth Ministry head, along with Lelanny Real, parish youth coordinator, both pointed out that the live Stations of the Sross is seen to spark the interest of more young people in understanding deeply the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
