<p>A man in San Fernando, Pampanga will be &lsquo;crucified&rsquo; for the 35th time for the Maleldo 2024.</p><p>The man, Ruben Enaje, will carry a cross weighing two kilograms during the two-kilometer trek to the hill in Barangay San Pedro Cutud where the reenactment of Jesus&rsquo; crucifixion will take place for Holy Week.</p><p>He admits portraying the role will be more challenging, especially in carrying the cross.</p><p>&quot;Ang kalusugan naman natin ay medyo may dinadamdam [na] dahil lumaki yung katawan natin&hellip; hinihingal kapag nagbubuhat ng mabigat,&quot; Enaje said.</p><p>Aside from Barangay San Pedro Cutud, three other crucifixion sites will be set up in Barangay San Juan and Barangay Sta. Lucia on Good Friday.</p><p>Due to the hot weather, security and medical personnel are on heightened alert.</p><p>It is anticipated that around 20,000 visitors will witness the reenactment.</p><p>&quot;We are expecting a lot of people, mga lokal at foreign tourists, to visit the city of San Fernando. The city government will be intervening in terms of the public health and safety, security, and traffic in order to ensure na maayos po at ligtas itong ating Maleldo 2024,&rdquo; Raymond Del Rosario of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), said.</p><p>According to the local government unit (LGU), there will be no traffic rerouting, and there will be signs leading to the reenactment sites.</p>
