Buguey, Cagayan came alive with the aroma of grilled fish as residents celebrated the "3rd Malaga and Guraman Festival 2024."
The festival featured the grilling of 2,000 kilos of malaga fish, marking the third consecutive year of this event aimed at promoting food security, food tourism, and economic activity in the town.
Held in July to coincide with the harvest season, the festival draws numerous visitors to Buguey, boosting local tourism and the economy.
In addition to the festivities, the town also broke ground for a new cold chain facility.
This facility will provide storage for the town's fish harvests, ensuring better preservation and distribution.
