Winwyn Marquez is set for a major pageant comeback when she represents Muntinlupa City in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines this May.

The news was revealed during a sashing and media launch on Saturday, February 8.

She also posted on her official social media accounts a fierce portrait in a fiery red dress, with the caption "Hello, Philippines! Hello, Universe!"

According to a a report by GMA News Online, Winwyn said that she’s been training for around two to three months now.

“I’m really someone who takes on opportunities, especially when it feels right. And this moment is right for me. Kung na-feel ko na parang panahon para sa ‘kin, gagawin ko,” she said.

The Sparkle actress' awaited return to pageantry comes eight years after winning the Reina Hispanoamericana title in 2017.

She has appeared in a number of Kapuso shows, such as "Owe My Love" in 2022, "My Liham ni Urduja" in 2023, and the ongoing "Lilet Matias: Attorney-at-Law."
