Tribu Lumad Basakanon, a renowned cultural troupe in Cebu City,  is set to showcase Filipino talent on the world stage anew, as it represents the Philippines at the 2025 Osaka World Exposition in Japan.

According to a post of the Cebu City Public Information Office (PIO) on Facebook, the group which is celebrated for its vibrant performances rooted in Cebuano tradition will perform at the Philippine Pavilion on June 7 to 8, 2025, highlighting the country’s rich cultural heritage.

"Carrying the theme “Design Future Society for our Lives,” the Osaka Expo gathers nations to celebrate innovation, culture, and global unity," the post said. 

Tribu Lumad Basakanon’s participation is a "major honor for Cebu City and the Philippines, signalling international recognition of Filipino artistry," Cebu City PIO added.

The troupe is set to depart for Japan on June 5, 2025.
