At least 17,000 examinees have retaken the West Visayas State University (WVSU) College Admission Test on April 15, 2024.

As early as 7 a.m., some parents gathered outside of WVSU gate to show support to their children who took again the admission examination.

Parents had to deal with the sweltering heat and hunger pangs just to extend support to their children who have aspired to become “taga-West” (which means “of West” or one who is "from West" referring to the school name).

To recall, an entrance examination was conducted on March 10, 2024. However, the integrity of the results was tainted because of a reported breach on test questionnaries. The examination results were invalidated and a schedule for examinees to retake was set.

To make the test within reach to examinees outside of Iloilo City, testing centers were put up in satellite campuses of the university and other venues in the country.

A few examinees shared their observation that the April 15 exam is more difficult and more rigorous than the previous one.

In an initial assessment, examinees who had retaken the exam reached about 17,000; at least 7,000 of which at the main campus and 10,000 at satellite testing centers.
