A 28-year-old farmer in Matalam, Cotabato was killed after he allegedly fought back against authorities serving a warrant of arrest against him.
Police were serving an arrest warrant against the suspect for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165) and Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591) when the suspect opened fire, forcing the operatives to retaliate.
The suspect was killed while his companions were able to escape.
Authorities said the suspect was considered a high value target in the country.
Recovered from the suspect’s possession were 24 sachets of suspected shabu and an M16 rifle with ammunition.
