A 60-year-old woman was burned to death when a fire razed her shanty in Barangay Catalunan, Pequeño, Davao City.
Authorities identified the woman as Maria Paz Banol.
According to the Talomo Fire Station, the fire spread quickly and affected a junk storage containing plastics and boxes.
The victim reportedly called for help but to no avail.
Investigators are looking into unattended cooking as possible cause of the fire.
