A 56-year-old man in Barangay Sawang, Lobo, Batangas died after he fell from a mango tree while trimming a branch.

A neighbor found the man sprawled on the ground.

The man was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

“According to [a] report po, na-out-of-balance [yung biktima]. Maaaring 'yun pong kinakapitan niya ay maaaring nabali, ganoon po,” PLT. Nelson Ramos, Deputy Chief of Police of Lobo Police Station, said.

Police suspect that the man may have hit his head when he fell from the tree, which is as tall as an electric post. He sustained injuries in different parts of his body.

“Walang dugo, maaaring ang tama sa loob ng katawan o ulo ang tumama,” Ramos added.

Authorities said the victim's family had accepted that what happened was an accident and there was no foul play involved.

Authorities remind the public to take proper precautions when climbing trees.
