In Barangay Bilibinwang, Agoncillo, Batangas, the police recovered the motorcycle used by the suspect in the shooting of a 13-year-old Grade 8 student in Barangay Banyaga in the same town.

The shooting happened on April 17, 2024.

Also recovered was a helmet believed to be used during the incident.

According to the police, a resident clearing grass spotted and reported the motorcycle.

It was estimated to be about four kilometers away from the crime scene.

The registered owner of the motorcycle has been identified, but it was reported that the vehicle was already sold on April 4.

“Actually, pumunta rin po sila [yung owner] dito sa police station sa Agoncillo, nakipag-cooperate sila. Unfortunately, hindi sila nagkaroon ng documentation sa pagbebenta ng motor,” PMAJ. Broderick Noprada, Officer in Charge of the Agoncillo Police Station, said.

The DNA specimen samples obtained from the motorcycle and helmet are, as of this writing, being processed at the forensic laboratory.

“We also requested na magkaroon din ng process [sa] fingerprints kung meron pang naiwang fingerprints. Still waiting pa rin kami [sa result], and hopefully magkaroon ng positive result,” Noprada said.

The police continue to pursue a person of interest and investigate the motive behind the shooting.
