A 15-year-old boy died while his companion, also 15 years old, sustained injuries when the motorcycle they were riding fell into a canal in Dolores, Abra.
The victims were not wearing helmets and were reportedly under the influence of alcohol.
The police believe that the motorcycle may have been speeding, causing it to overshoot and fall into the canal.
“Matulin ang motor dahil kita naman kung gaano kahaba kung saan sila na-slide, malayo rin ang motor mula sa mga biktima,” PMAJ. Harold Alagao, Chief of Dolores Police Station, said.
The minor who sustained injuries is recuperating in the hospital, as of this writing.
Authorities remind parents not to allow underage children to drive, and for all motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol.
