A 39-year-old man was arrested in an operation in Barangay Siramag, Balatan, Camarines Sur where authorities seized from him 61 grams of suspected shabu worth P414,800.

Police said the suspect faced charges for illegal possession of firearms, but after posting bail, he allegedly became the supplier of illegal drugs in the area.

“After nakapag-bail siya sa kinakaharap niyang kaso for firearms, siya naman ang nagging supplier ng illegal drugs dito sa Balatan. Take note, Balatan is a drug-cleared municipality. This is our way of sustaining the municipality as drug-cleared,” Mark Anthony Viray, the Provincial Director of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Camarines Sur, said.

PDEA continues to verify information regarding the suspect's possible involvement in drug trafficking in other parts of the province.

In a separate operation in Naga City, two drug personalities were arrested in possession of P149,600 worth of suspected shabu and a sachet of suspected marijuana.

The suspects are, as of this writing, under the custody of the Naga City Police Office.
