Authorities arrested two individuals allegedly engaged in the production of fake public utility vehicle (PUV) identification (ID) in Davao City.

Police arrested the shop's owner and his companion during an entrapment operation on May 9, 2024.

Investigation showed that a taxi driver had his ID scanned by personnel of the City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) outside the Davao International Airport and it was found that the ID was fake.

The taxi driver then informed CTTMO where his fake ID was made and printed.

During the operation on May 9, authorities confiscated a computer set, two printers, and a laminating machine.

The suspects are facing charges for falsification of public document. They refused to give a statement.

The Davao City Police Office (DCPO) has warned individuals involved in falsification of public documents:

“Rest assured, this office will take immediate action on such incidents, bringing to justice those who act in similar ways without fear or favor,” DCPO said.
