A 42-year-old man was arrested in Naga City, Camarines Sur for allegedly blackmailing his ex-girlfriend using private photos and videos.

The operation was conducted by the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit (RACU) in Naga City.

The girl said her ex-boyfriend threatened to post their private photos and videos on social media if she would not go back to him.

Out of fear, the victim reported the situation to authorities.

The two agreed to meet in Naga City where authorities waited to arrest the suspect.

Police said the suspect may face charges under the Violence Against Women and Their Children Act, as well as the Safe Spaces Act, in connection with the Cybercrime Law.

Authorities remind the public to not allow their intimate moments to be captured in photos or videos to prevent similar incidents.
