Floodwaters entered several houses in Bangkal, Talomo Proper in Davao City following heavy rains evening on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.

According to a report by GMA Super Radio Davao, most of the residents were not able to evacuate as floodwaters rose quickly.

The water in Talomo River reportedly overflowed, which contributed to the flooding.

Based on monitoring of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the water level in Talomo River in Barangay Tugbok Proper was raised to code yellow (alert level) as of 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, but is already subsiding to code green (safe level), as of this writing.

The downpour experienced in the city was due to the easterlies, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
