Two alleged members of a local terrorist group were killed while a soldier was wounded when authorities were serving an arrest warrant in Barangay Talcon, T’boli, South Cotabato.

The military said the two were members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Hassan Group and one of them was facing murder charges.

According to the 5th Special Forces Battalion, the two allegedly fought back when the police and military served the arrest warrant.

An exchange of fire ensued, which lasted for about 10-minutes.

The two did not reach the hospital alive while the wounded soldier is reportedly in stable condition.

Seized from the suspects were a caliber 45 pistol and a plastic container with blasting cap and a battery inside.

Major General Alex Rillera, commander of the 6th Infantry Division and Joint Task Force-Central, lauded the operating team for their bravery and for ensuring the peace and security in the community.
