A former town councilor from Mamasapano, Maguindanao del Sur was shot dead in Cotabato City.
The victim, Abdulrahman Kasid, was attending a turnover ceremony of a housing project at Em Manor Compound when an unidentified assailant on board a pickup truck shot him.
Kasid sustained several gunshot wounds and did not reach the hospital alive.
Recovered from the crime scene were 11 empty shells of an Armalite rifle.
Police are reviewing the CCTV in the area as investigation continues.
