A 44-year-old laborer who was installing construction materials in a residence in Barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City was electrocuted.

The incident happened at around 10 a.m. on May 23, 2024.

The Lapu-Lapu City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office said that while the laborer was installing metal furring at the ceiling of the house, he snagged a secondary power line.

According to Vincent Charles Comendador of the Lapu-Lapu City Rescue, it was a good thing that the man did not fall off the roof.

The Lapu-Lapu City Fire District conducted a rope rescue using a spineboard and a basket stretcher to move the person safely off the roof and rush him to the hospital.

According to Dr. Debrah Custodio, Lapu-Lapu City Hospital administrator, the patient is conscious but he sustained second-degree burns.

As of posting time, he was transferred already to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center in Cebu City.
