The new chief of the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) said there is no reason to reshuffle personnel and station commanders.

Col. Rolindo Suguilon assumed as officer-in-charge of DCPO on May 23, 2024.

Suguilon said, however, that policemen who will be involved in any wrongdoing will be removed from their post and realignment of personnel may be implemented.

Suguilon replaced Col. Richard Bad-ang who was among the 35 cops relieved administratively while investigation into the drug-related killings in Davao City is ongoing. Seven drug suspects who allegedly fought back against authorities in separate buy-bust operations were killed in March 2024.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte condemned the relief order, saying it was ‘unpsetting’ and ‘unfair.’

Suguilon assured that the campaign against illegal drugs and other types of criminality will continue. DCPO will also intensify its efforts in running after wanted persons and those who carry unlicensed firearms.
