The Naga City Bike Board clarified that it is not prohibiting e-bikes from entering the city, contrary to reports suggesting restrictions by the Public Safety Office (PSO).

"Mayo man kaming kasuguan kaiyan. Pighapot ko man ang satuyang Mayor kang Huwebes ta naghilingan kami, mayo man akong tinataram kaiyan na bawal magralaog ang taga-luwas kang Naga," Boboy Hernandez, Coordinator of the Naga City Bike Board, said.

Hernandez said he received reports that registered e-bike users from neighboring towns in Camarines Sur were allegedly being denied entry into the city since June 4, 2024.

Based on the office's data, there are 1,875 registered e-bikes in the city, with 60 percent coming from nearby towns.

The Naga City PSO said they have not arrested, cited, or barred anyone from entering Naga City, except for those violating regulations.

Joey Peñas, Head of the PSO Transport Regulation Section, said.

Peñas said if such a prohibition is to be enforced, those already registered should be given consideration, and clear regulations should be established on how to proceed.

Until such regulations are in place, PSO assured that they will not arrest, cite, or prevent the entry of e-bikes from other towns, as long as no laws are being violated.
