A 53-year-old motorcycle driver died after he was hit by a modernized Public Utility Vehicle (PUV), thrown off his vehicle to the pavement by the impact, and ran over by a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) along ML Quezon Highway in Barangay Pajo, Lapu-Lapu City.
The victim was identified as a resident of Barangay Babag, also in Lapu-Lapu City.
According to an investigation by the Traffic Enforcement Unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police, the incident involved a modern PUV that stopped at the outer lane to allow a passenger to embark.
As soon as the passenger got on the bus, the PUV maneuvered to the left to change lane but failed to set the left-turn signal on, and hit the motorcycle that was plying the second lane. The impact had thrown off the motorcycle driver to the pavement.

The incident happened at past 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
The PUV driver and the SUV driver were both placed at the temporary custodial facility of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Station.
