Police rescued a woman who was injured after she was allegedly held hostage by her live-in partner in Barangay Catalunan Pequeño, Davao City morning on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

According to a report by GMA Super Radyo Davao, police received a report that the suspect was hurting his live-in partner.

When authorities responded to the area, the suspect was already taking his live-in partner hostage and tried to flee on board a motorcycle.

The suspect hit a civilian while fleeing, but he was chased by the operatives.

Police were forced to shoot the suspect after he allegedly tried to fight back using a gun.

The suspect was brought to the hospital, and he is set to face charges.

His live-in partner and the other civilian are already safe.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.
