A 40-year-old fisherman who has been adrift at sea for two days was rescued near Andulingan Island in Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Members of the Philippine Navy on board BRP Jose Loor SR (PC390) spotted the fisherman clinging to a piece of styrofoam approximately 6.4 nautical miles away from the island.
The fisherman’s boat capsized while he was fishing on December 2, 2024.
He is a resident of Barangay Tandu Banak, Sibutu.
According to the Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), Navy personnel administered first aid and provided the fisherman with dry clothes and hot food.
The fisherman is now in stable condition.
