Up to 291 former members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) are now part of the police service after completing a six-month field training program.
The PNP Badge of Honor ceremonies for the 291 graduates of the Public Safety Field Training Program (PSFTP) was held at the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) Grandstand in Camp Brigadier General Salipada K. Pendatun in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.
PRO-BAR said the 291 former MILF and MNLF combatants finished the training for six months in various municipal and city police stations.
During the training, they gained practical experience in patrol operations, crime response, investigations, and community policing.
“This successful integration of former MILF and MNLF combatants into the PNP, through the NAPOLCOM Resolution No. 2022-008, promotes inclusivity and reconciliation within law enforcement,” PRO-BAR said.
“Additionally, it fosters harmony, conflict resolution, trust building, effective policing strategies, and a cooperative future between armed groups, local communities, and authorities, paving the way for a lesser risk of attacks on government forces and strengthening partnerships to achieve a more peaceful, secure, and progressive Bangsamoro Region,” PRO-BAR added.
