A live-in couple was arrested with firearms and suspected illegal drugs during a raid in General Santos City.

Police said the couple was arrested by virtue of a search warrant for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act (RA 10591).

The subject of the search warrant was the 40-year-old man but authorities also arrested his partner who was with him at that time.

During the search, authorities confiscated a caliber .22 firearm, ammunition, and several sachets of suspected shabu.

The two will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and RA 10591.

Police added that the man was imprisoned in the past for his alleged involvement in illegal drug activities. He allegedly returned to the trade after he got out of prison.
