A 51-year-old teacher was injured after he was shot while driving his car in Barangay 76-A, Davao City morning on Thursday, March 13, 2025.

The victim reportedly managed to drive until he reached the Central 911 office and asked for help.

“Niabot lang na siya, nihunong, kay ang incident area, kay according sa mga witnesses, didto na sya sa Acacia St.,” City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) Chief, Alfredo Baloran, said.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound in the back and was rushed to the hospital. He is safe, as of this writing.

Based on investigation, a motorcycle without plate followed the victim’s sports utility vehicle (SUV) and blocked the road, according to a witness.

Another SUV reportedly overtook and the gunman on board shot the victim using an alleged caliber .45 pistol.

The victim had just attended an activity conducted by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) and was supposed to attend a hearing in the barangay when the incident happened.

Authorities are investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.
