The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is preparing to issue notices to seven local candidates in Dagupan City after spotting illegal campaign posters in restricted areas.

Many of the campaign materials were either too large or placed on trees and electric posts, which violates election rules.

Michael Franks Sarmiento said.

If the candidates fail to comply within the given period, COMELEC will submit a final report to their Legal Department. This could result in a show cause order, possibly affecting the candidate’s eligibility.

Meanwhile, the Pangasinan Provincial Police Office (PPO) continues to monitor election-related activities across the province.

Authorities are also watching not just the candidates but also their supporters.

Rollyfer Capoquian said.
