Most bus companies at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal (DCOTT) will suspend their trips on Good Friday, April 18, 2025.

DCOTT management said only two units from Davao ACT Bus Line, Inc. will operate.

There will be no trips for Davao Metro Shuttle, Nor Beli Jun Transit, Yellow Bus Line, Philtranco, Jian Lines, Golden Valley, and Land Car Inc.

Buses operated by Rural Transit Mindanao Inc., Bachelor Express, and Mindanao Star Bus will continue its regular trips.

Regular operations will be observed on Maundy Thursday, April 17, except for Davao Metro Shuttle Corp., which will operate only a limited number of units.

As of this writing, travelers have begun to flock to DCOTT for the Holy Week break.

According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulator Board-Davao (LTFRB-11), at least 17 bus units were given special permits in anticipation of the influx of passengers starting Wednesday.

“Naa tay 17 nga naaprobahan nga special permits but then ang atoang help desk is here if in case especially during the time nga daghan na gyud ang mag-punsisok nga pasahero. Naa pud tay giandam nga special permits if in case magkulang ang 17,” LTFRB-11 Director, Nonito Llanos III, said.

Meanwhile, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reminded the public to secure their homes before leaving for Holy Week activities.

“Hangyo lang pud nato nga kung mubiya sila sa ilang mga panimalay, siguraduhon nga nakakandado kini ug dili basta basta masulod sa mga taong involved sa criminal activities like sa akyat-bahay,” DCPO Spokesperson, Capt. Hazel Caballero Tuazon, said.

“Dili magbutang og note sa gawas nga walay tao diri sa balay, balik lang mo sunod adlaw o sunod semana kay wala mi diri sa balay. Kung pwede mag upload sa social media, pwede late nalang. Dili magbutang sa social media og at this moment,” Tuazon added.

However, security measures have already been put in place.
