Dengue cases in Zamboanga City went up by 42 percent in the first four months of 2025, according to the City Health Office (CHO).

Based on CHO data, up to 638 dengue cases with two fatalities were recorded from January 1 to April 19, 2025, which is higher than the 450 cases logged in the same period in 2024.

Out of 638 patients, 326 were children between one to 10 years old.

Barangays Labuan and Baliwasan have the most number of cases with 19 cases each, followed by Sta. Barbara with 17; Rio Hondo with 15; Culianan with 14; Pasobolong and Cabaluay with 12 each; Cawit with 11; San Jose Cawa-Cawa and Bunguiao with nine each; Limpapa with seven; Lanzones with five; Guisao with four; and Zone IV and Capisan with two cases each.
