However, the Philippine National Police (PNP) did not divulge the names of the eight towns.
Based on data from the Department of Education 6, a total of 2,801 schools will be used in the elections. A total of 7,337 classrooms will serve as polling precincts, while a total of 35,949 teachers will comprise the electoral board.
According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Iloilo, all qualified poll workers who are part of the electoral board have no relatives running for elective posts in the May 2025 polls.
“I am confident that all over the Province of Iloilo, including Iloilo City, malinis ang lista ng ating poll workers or teachers, or other government employees, na magsisilbi,” said Atty. Reinier Layson, COMELEC Iloilo provincial election supervisor.
In the Municipality of Pavia, COMELEC is 80-percent ready for the elections. COMELEC Pavia is waiting for the arrival of automated counting machines (ACMs) and official ballots.
Further, poll workers are set to undergo a refresher training.
“Refresher training pa for poll workers sa ating EBs [electoral board], DESO [Department of Education Supervisor Official] tech, technicians, support staff, and support staff,” COMELEC Pavia Election Officer, Ma. Elisa Bernal, said.
Moreover, COMELEC has launched Online Precinct Finder that can assist voters look up their polling precincts by scanning a Quick Response (QR) code.
Voters are asked to fill tabs on the Online Precinct Finder such as name, birthdate, and place of registration. Immediately the finder generates the precinct number of the voter.
Rosemarie Rosales, a voter, always find it hard to locate her precinct at school during elections. So, she tried the Online Precinct Finder.
“Okay naman upang mabilis mong malaman kung anong precinct ka,” Rosales said.
