Up to 596 police personnel from Police Regional Office-Caraga (PRO-13) have been deployed to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to serve as members of the electoral board in the 2025 midterm elections.
Officials of PRO-13 and Commission on Elections-Caraga (COMELEC-13) led the send-off ceremony on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
These police officers will be assigned to different provinces, including Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Tawi-Tawi, and Special Geographic Areas (SGA).
The troops were also given health kits.
“To our PNP personnel, you will be there to safeguard the very essence of democracy. Be safe and sound until you return home,” PRO-13 Director, Brigadier General Christopher Abrahano, said.
Meanwhile, at least 400 police officers from Northern Mindanao have also been deployed to BARMM to serve in the upcoming elections.
The send-off ceremony was held at the Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) headquarters.
“These dedicated men and women have undergone extensive training and preparation to ensure the integrity and orderly conduct of the elections. This deployment reflects PRO 10’s commitment to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and assist in maintaining peace and order during the significant democratic exercise,” PRO-10 said.
